The Scorpion Athletic Booster Club (for Camarillo High School Athletics) is expected to receive approval and obtain sufficient funding (grants, rebates, donations, etc.) to replace the grass with artificial turf on their football field.  This is a fantastic opportunity for the high school to dramatically improve its facility (including new long jump pits – yeah!); however, it means the Cosmos Youth Track Program will need to utilize an alternate venue for the 2015 season.

The funding for the project is time-sensitive and work is expected to begin March 1, and continue beyond the duration of our track season.  Given our club's requirements for space, field events, parking, and availability for practices and meets, the Cosmos board has identified another longtime supporter of our program, Rio Mesa High School, as the closest and best equipped alternative for our team’s needs.  Historically, we have had a strong partnership with Rio Mesa, and we are hoping to move our practices and home meets to this school for the 2015 season.

We realize that using Rio Mesa as a temporary location for our 2015 practices and home meets will be an inconvenience, but it is our best alternative at this time on such short notice.

To accommodate family decisions, we are extending the deadline for a full refund for both registration and uniforms for families who will be unable to participate as a result of the venue change.  Please contact before 9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16 to request a full refund on the registration fees and uniforms.  Full refunds for registration will continue to be offered until February 15, but uniform orders cannot be refunded at this time.  Alternatively, half registration fees (but not uniform orders) will be offered between February 16 and February 28.

No refunds are available after February 28.

Please note that the Cosmos Board is still working to finalize details with our program’s longtime supporter, Rio Mesa High School.  We apologize for the late developing information, but we wanted to inform you of this development while we are working to find the best and most thoughtful solution.  We know that our Cosmos family is strong enough to endure this temporary inconvenience, and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.  We look forward to seeing everyone in early February.

The Camarillo Cosmos Youth Track & Field Club is a fun family experience for all kids, regardless of ability, from age 6 to 14. Participants will have a great time, make new friends, and grow to appreciate the benefits of hard work. Registration for the 2015 season will open on November 10, 2014.  Practices are held 2 - 3 times per week at Adolfo Camarillo High School and will start in February 2015. Meets are held on Saturdays, beginning in March and running through May.  The Cosmos compete against seven other youth track clubs located throughout Ventura County; collectively, the teams comprise the Ventura County Youth Track Conference (VCYTC).

The fun, competition, and friendship that the Cosmos athletes will experience this spring would not happen without the support of our parents.  We are all volunteers, and it is our collective responsibility to make this a positive and successful organization.

Most of the current members of the board and coaching staff have been in place since 2010. Over the past four years, we have increased athlete participation while developing the board and coaching staff.  We truly enjoy working together for the kids and for our community.  We hope you and your child experience this during your time with the club.

If you have a desire to get involved in either an administrative or coaching capacity, please contact one of the board members or send an email to  We recognize the enormous collective talent pool we have in our parent group, but we likely do not know what individuals might offer unless you step forward.
